The Warehouse Equipment Operator will ship, receive, unload, scan, move, stage, load, locate, relocate, and stack product, utilizing equipment to perform tasks to ensure that department facility objectives are met. The incumbent performs the required tasks independently. The incumbent may perform duties in the areas of technical support, design, and analysis, and can be required to make recommendations. Work is performed under the general supervision of an immediate supervisor, who reviews the completed work to assess the degree of judgment and compliance with standards.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage products/materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment.
  • Operate various types of equipment in the warehouse, including RF Scanners, Electric Pallet Jack, Forklift, Turret, Order Picker, and any other powered equipment as needed for the task on hand.
  • Responsible for order selection processes as assigned by the Operations Supervisor and/or Operations Manager.
  • Assess all products and pallets, notifying supervisor(s) of any damaged materials.
  • Responsible for maintaining safety and housekeeping standards in the department.
  • Continuous mental and/or visual attention; the work requires constant alertness in a warehouse environment.
  • The physical demand typically applied in this job includes lifting, pulling, reaching, carrying, pushing, standing, walking, stooping, and bending.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and work in hot conditions during summer months.
  • Able to lift 30 – 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
  • Able to lift to 100 lbs. with help on an occasional basis.
  • Lifting: 40 % of time 100 pounds
  • Sitting:10 % of time
  • Walking/Standing: 50 % of time
  • Climbing: % of time
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Must be flexible to working overtime, which is sometimes mandatory.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience, preferably within a distribution center or warehouse.
  • 1 year of experience operating various types of powered equipment in a warehouse environment, such as Electric Pallet Jack, Forklift, Turret, Order Picker
  • Experience driving Crown Powered Equipment preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.

 

Working Environment

  • Warehouse environment, subject to moderate temperature changes. There are minimal health hazards due to working on or around a forklift.

 

Payrate: $18.25/hour

$500 Sign-on bonus
