About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting, and will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing network systems. The Network Engineer II will play a key role in supporting the organization's networking infrastructure, ensuring uptime, performance, and security across all systems.
What You’ll Do:
Network Design & Implementation:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable network infrastructures for both local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of network systems with other IT infrastructure.
- Provide input and recommendations for network architecture to enhance performance, security, and scalability.
Network Configuration & Troubleshooting:
- Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other networking devices.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Respond promptly to network outages or performance issues and resolve problems quickly.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments on network infrastructure.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Utilize network monitoring tools to track and report on network health and performance.
- Identify trends and potential risks in the network and proactively address them.
- Provide detailed reports on network performance, incidents, and management solutions.
Documentation & Training:
- Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation to ensure easy access and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Provide training and technical support to junior network engineers and other IT staff.
Collaboration & Escalation:
- Work closely with other IT teams, including systems engineers, security engineers, and IT support teams, to ensure network-related issues are addressed quickly and effectively.
- Serve as a point of escalation for complex network issues that require advanced troubleshooting or expertise.
- Engage closely with the Principal Network Engineer on complex projects and escalations.
To join our band, you'll need the following experience:
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in network engineering or related roles, with a strong focus on configuring and troubleshooting network devices and services.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or other enterprise-level networking hardware and software.
- Linux and Windows server experience is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in routing and switching protocols (OSPF and BGP).
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Nagios.
- Familiarity with network security protocols, VPN technologies (IPsec, SSL), and firewall configurations.
- Experience with SDN (Software-Defined Networking), cloud networks, and virtualization technologies is a plus.
- Proficient in scripting and network automation tools such as Ansible, Git, Python, and Bash.
Nice To Have:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher (CCNP or equivalent is a plus).
- CompTIA Network+ or similar networking certifications.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) is a plus.
- JNCIA and JNCIE Juniper certifications are a plus.

Pay Rate: Base range of $100,000 - $145,000 per year, depending on background and experience.
